Flowerfield Township Meeting Minutes

FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
JULY 10, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 by Supervisor Carroll Parmeter.  Carroll Parmeter, Sally Hackenberg, Ron Shaver, Paul Williams were all present, Pam came later on. 

AGENDA
Carroll made the motion to accept the Agenda with the addition of Polling Place Accessibility information from the Clerk, seconded by Paul motion carried.

COMMENTS
It noted that the roads look fairly decent.

MINUTES
Paul made the motion to approve the June 5, 2006 Flowerfield Township Board meeting minutes, seconded by Carroll, motion carried.

REPORTS
Assessor was not present.

Rural Inspection Services-Charlie was present and said that he has not heard anything yet from Scot Keith concerning the building stop order.  Charlie will send them a letter asking what their intentions are at this point.  Carroll inquired about the trailer on Creglow, when would it be moved.

PCB-There will be a hearing July 27th about bringing our Zoning Ordinance up to code.  The changes are based on Public Act 110.

SEXTON-Bill was present and said that he had one cremation burial on Sat.   Sally asked the board members if they had the time to check out Knob Hill Cemetery on Day Rd. the back east fence line is corroding away.  Bill also presented to the board his plan to fix the old broken headstones.  He will get some kind of cost and inform the board. 

OLD BUSINESS
Carroll Parmeter made the motion to adopt Ordinance #33 Converting State Construction Code as Adopted and Enforced by the Township to Municipal Civil Infraction, to take effect 30 days after publication, seconded by Paul Williams, with a roll call as follows; Sally-yes, Ron-yes, Paul-yes and Carroll-yes.

Municipal Ordinance update- Doug Kuhlman was not present but it was noted that work is proceeding as scheduled.

The paint bids was discussed by the board members and will be tabled until the August meeting.

There is no news on the right of way at the Upper Flatbush Cemetery at this time.

Howardsville Cemetery lot discrepancy-Ron Shaver made the motion to let Ron Harmon pay the old price of $50 per lot for the two lots in question(total of $100), seconded by Paul, motion carried.  These lot numbers are 64 and 96 at the Howardsville Cemetery.

The Polling Place Accessibility Act letter from the State Bureau of Elections was discussed by the board.  The ADA will be meeting with Sally and Carroll to let us know what has to be improved for Polling Place Accessibility.  Also this needs to be done by the November 06 election. 

EXPENDITURES
Carroll made the motion to approve Expenditures 2305 thru 2330, seconded by Paul, motion carried.

ADJOURNMENT
Paul made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Sally, motion carried with the meeting adjourning at 8:58.
